We built this policy to be fair for both sides: you don’t lose money for no reason, and we don’t go broke because half the group bails last minute. Short trips mean almost everything is prepaid to small local operators, guides, boats, and mountain huts, so money leaves our account the moment you hit “book”. That’s why the rules below exist.
Full refund window
If you cancel more than 60 days before the start date, you get 100 % back, no questions, minus the payment-processing fee (usually 3-4 %, whatever the bank takes). Money lands in your account within a couple of days.
30-60 days before the start
You get 50 % back. The other half already went to guides and accommodations that can’t resell the spot on short notice.
Less than 30 days before the start
Unfortunately no refund. At this point every bed, boat, and permit is locked in and paid. We’re a tiny company, not a giant corporation that can eat the loss.
If we have to cancel the trip
Happens very rarely (weather, closed borders, volcano decides to wake up, that kind of thing). In that case you get 100 % back instantly, or you can move the booking to any other date or trip within 18 months, whatever you prefer. No fees, no drama.
If you can’t travel because of serious stuff
Death in the family, broken leg, sudden visa denial, positive test the day before – life happens. Send us proof within 7 days of the incident and we refund everything we possibly can (usually 70-90 %, depending on how much we already paid out and can’t get back). We’re humans, not robots.
Travel insurance is your best friend
We beg everyone to buy a proper “cancel for any reason” policy the moment you book. It costs peanuts compared to the trip and saves everyone headaches. We can recommend a couple of solid ones if you need.
How to cancel or change
Just shoot an email to [email protected] with your booking number and the word “cancel” or “change” in the subject. We reply fast, usually same day, and sort everything out in one or two emails max.
Name changes and transfers
Want to give your spot to a friend? Totally fine up to 7 days before the start, just pay a small admin fee (50 USD) and send us the new person’s details. After that it gets complicated with permits and insurance, so rather not.
Money back method
We always refund to the exact card or account you paid from. Takes 3-10 business days depending on your bank, not us.
That’s literally everything
We hate surprises more than you do, so this policy is written in stone. Last updated November 2025 – if anything ever changes, we’ll shout it from every rooftop and email you personally.
